When it comes to food waste, waste not want not and preserve our planet. You can lead the fight against landfill and safeguard natural resources with these If You Care Compostable Bin Bags.
Made from potato starch from non-GMO starch potatoes blended with a certified, fully compostable polymer, these bin bags are stronger than bags made from corn starch. Starch is a mixture of a linear (amylose) and a branched (amylopectin) polymer of glucose. What’s more potato starch has a higher percentage of amylopectin than wheat starch. It’s all about structural integrity – and amylopectin provides all the strength and integrity we need for our food waste. Starch potatoes are too high in starch to be consumed as food and require no irrigation, so only natural rainfall. This also requires little land to produce the raw material. So very environmentally friendly.
Around 80m tons of waste goes to landfill annually. But in a landfill environment, trapped organic material releases methane gas – a greenhouse gas – contributing to global warning. So start waging the war on waste today.
