Citric acid has many uses in our world, especially in plants. It can be found most famously in lemons and other citruses as well as in almost all fungi, fruits and even woods. Nowadays we use it as a common food additive or as a pH regulator in soft drinks. This makes it great in your kitchen as it’s used in many fun recipes and can be used to enhance the flavour of your food. Not to mention it’s an amazing antioxidant which is another reason it’s a great addition to your recipes.

This food-grade citric acid is also great at tackling limescale and can be an alternative natural cleaner to some smellier ones like vinegar. It’s also a useful preservative and can be used in many cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The wide range of uses means it makes a great eco-friendly addition to the household.

  • Vegan
  • Biodegradable
  • Made from raw plant materials
  • Plastic free

The resealable kraft bags used to package the citric acid are 100% home compostable making it a plastic-free and guilt-free buy. Produced in Western Europe, with a low carbon footprint during transport compared to a lot of other products.

For small and large domestic appliances descaling. Dilute 1 or 2 tablespoons of citric acid in 1L of cold water and use this solution to descale coffee machines and kettles. Rinse with clear water afterwards. You can also use this solution to descale taps, showerheads or pressure reducers. To remove limescale from your washing machine, put 6 to 8 tablespoons of acid in the drum and run on a cycle (90°C)
