Ecozone soap nuts berries are a 100% natural, organic and sustainable alternative to laundry detergent. Soap nuts can also be used in many other ways throughout your home such as homemade shampoo, all-purpose household cleaners, glass cleaner, a natural dish soap, hand soap, or as a natural pesticide.
Ecozone soap nuts are also hypoallergenic so they are a great alternative to shop-bought laundry detergent if you have sensitive skin. They are also very cost effective. The 1kg organic cotton bag holds enough for 330 washes and the 300g holds enough soapnuts for 100 washes. Each soapnut berry is reusable for up to 4 times and compostable after use.
Soapnuts are 100% vegan and have been used for thousands of years as a natural washing detergent. Soapnuts grow on trees of the Sapindus Genus and are a source of Saponin, a natural soap which cleans and freshens your clothes, body, hair or even your dishes!

I was very sceptical about this product, so I tried it out on my worst load: my dogs blanket and my husbands socks. He works in the RAF and wears thick socks in heavy boots all day so you can imagine how they smell after a long day at work. When everything came out we were shocked. Everything smelled like clean laundry, as if we used a detergent. I even put my face in the socks to test and they smelled clean. We are definitely believers now

As a Laundry detergent
1) Put the required amount of soap nuts into the small bag provided and zip up the bag. 2) Place your laundry in the machine with the soap nuts on top and run your normal program. 3) At the end of the wash remove the bag of soap nuts and allow to dry. These can be reused 4 times.
Or you can make a soapnut liquid detergent and use approx. 3 tablespoons (or 45ml) per wash.
Soap Nut Liquid
Use around 1-2 handfuls or 50g-100g of soapnut berries to approximately 2-3L of water, depending on how much liquid you require. Crush the berries into smaller pieces(optional) Bring to boil, then switch off heat, cover and allow to cool down. For a stronger formula simmer for approximately 30 minutes. Strain into a container. The berries can be re-boiled 3 times and can be composted after use. The result is a concentrated, non-toxic detergent that can then be used as a laundry detergent, shampoo, all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, a natural dish soap, liquid soap, pet shampoo, washing up liquid, or as a natural pesticide. This can replace any soap or cleaners you use at home.
