Bambu’s eat and drink tool kit is made entirely out of bamboo and can be easily carried with using the cotton mesh drawstring bag. It contains a knife, fork, spoon, spork, chopsticks, straw and cleaning brush. Both the bamboo and cotton are organic and are free of pesticides, chemicals and fertilisers. The kit is the perfect thing for a clean, sustainable lifestyle that favours waste and plastic free products. Since they’re easy to carry around you can use them when travelling, camping or just out and about.
Almost all the bamboo that is used is called Moso and isn’t eaten by Pandas so doesn’t affect their population. The straw which isn’t made of Moso also doesn’t affect Pandas as it is made from bamboo which grows in a different area of China (Fujian instead of Chengdu). None of the bamboo is from plantations, instead being harvested from wild groves. The finishing coat of oil on each of the utensils is organic and food safe, just like the bamboo. Since every utensil is only made from a single piece of bamboo no glue has been used to hold it together.
Bamboo is a brilliant material to create the straws from as it is more durable than wood and also heat and stain resistant. Bamboo is also the fastest growing plant on the planet and it constantly regrows new shoots after being harvested making it very sustainable. Unlike other crops, it thrives without needing to use harmful pesticides and fertilisers which damage the ecosystem.
