Vegan friendly bamboo toothbrush. Soft bristles. For each toothbrush sold we plant a tree!
This toothbrush is made using sustainable bamboo grown without artificial irrigation. The colours on the handle are free from mineral oils and other chemical additives and so when it is composted no residues are left in ground or drinking water. Vegan and biodegradable.
The handle is made of sustainable bamboo. Bamboo needs no pesticides or fertiliser to grow. It's a super fast growing grass that is more efficient at taking CO2 from the air and producing more O2 than trees. It re-generates itself naturally, with minimal rain and without the need for harmful pesticides. In fact, by harvesting and using the bamboo, it helps to control unwanted spread into agricultural and natural forest areas. The handles are handcrafted, each toothbrush is slightly unique.
The bristles are recyclable and made from a BPA FREE polymer resistant to microbial growth during normal use, to ensure safety and durability.
The Bamboo we use is naturally anti-bacterial. Furthermore, the outside of the wood has been carbonised, which means its been lightly burnt so moister does not absorb. There is no oil coating due to allergy/reaction reasons. But it has been safely carbonised.
Here in the UK we throw away millions of plastic toothbrushes every year which will take hundreds of years to breakdown. This certainly won't be in our lifetime nor our children's or even the grandchildren of our grandchildren. Now is time now to switch to bamboo.

Disposing of your toothbrush
For best results, most dentist's recommend you replace your toothbrush either monthly or at least every quarter some even say use it until it stops. We test drove a toothbrush for over 5 months so yes they last (not that we suggest you do that).
The handle can be disposed of safely by returning it to earth in compost. The bristles can be recycled (check with local authority). It is recommended to pluck the bristles out and put it with other nylon item. So it is more substantial and the separating machines at the recycling facilities will be able to separate the nylon easily from other plastics.
